The Morton Healthy Hometown Committee is sponsoring a program to assist area residents to establish a healthier lifestyle. The program, The Daniel Plan: 40 Days To A Healthier Life, will be led by Rev. Gary Glazier, pastor of Morton United Methodist Church. The program will begin on Thursday, September 4, at 6:30 p.m., at the Morton Activities Center in Farris Municipal Park in Morton. There will be several speakers during the course of the study addressing nutritional and spiritual issues. The 40 day study will end in conjunction with Barter Day at Roosevelt State Park on October 18th with a Run For God 5K Run & Walk.
The Daniel Plan is framed around the basic essentials of a healthier lifestyle: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus and Friends, “life areas that all work together to restore and sustain your long-term health”. The study will focus on not just losing weight, but on being healthy as a whole. Anyone interested in participating can go to the website danielplan.com for more information on the program. To signup call the Morton Chamber office at 601-732-6135 and leave your name and telephone number.
