Public Works Director: The City of Morton is seeking a forward-thinking Public Works Director who possesses strong leadership skills and can inspire the Public Works team to provide the highest quality of service. The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, team oriented leadership style, demonstrated enthusiasm and imagination in pursuit of creative solutions to meet public works challenges, and will be an open-minded problem solver who communicates well and values the input of others. The chosen candidate will be a solid manager who can provide clear direction and foster a team environment in which individuals are motivated to perform at their highest level. The Public Works Director must work well with other department leaders and Elected Officials, and have the ability to insure responsive service delivery and implementation of the Mayor's direction, fostering collaborative relationships for the benefit of the Department and the City. This position is responsible for Streets, Water Treatment, Water, Waste Water Treatment, Sewer and all city operated utilities. Heavy machinery operating experience is a plus. Candidates must have a minimal 3 years increasingly responsible experience in a supervisory level in public works in the public sector or in a field closely related to the public sector. An engineering background is not required.
