Maintenance Department

Road WorkThe City of Morton’s Maintenance Department has a Public Works Director and a Water Plant Operator along with ten fulltime employees and two part-time employees. The Department’s responsibilities include; installs and repairs water and sewer lines, maintains streets, cuts grass, cleans ditches, installs culverts, maintains the city’s three water wells, keeps litter picked up, enforces animal control ordinances, maintains the city’s equipment and numerous other duties as called for.

The goal of our Maintenance Department is to provide services to enhance the quality of life for the citizens and businesses of the City of Morton.

Water Treatment

The City of Morton’s wastewater facility is a 3.15 million gallons per day (MGD) average design flow Sequential Batch Reactor activated sludge treatment plant.
